In our program, growing garden vegetables and native flowers helps students learn about food production, ecology, and how native plants support our pollinators and wildlife. This approach builds a connection to nature, promotes healthy eating, and encourages taking care of the environment, creating a hands-on learning experience that emphasizes sustainability and the relationship between farming and ecosystems.
Learning about farm animals and animal husbandry focuses on the care and management of livestock, including cows, pigs, chickens, goats, and sheep. This program encompasses their health, nutrition, welfare, housing, and handling, along with the economic and environmental aspects of farming.
Each Friday from 8am-12pm bring your child to the farm for a day filled with adventure, exploration, and nature-based learning. This program is perfect for ages 3-10, with a maximum class of 8 in order for everyone to get the most out of each visit to the farm. Each day of learning will be centered around a different topic, ranging from large scale (clouds) to small scale (microscopic). We will also work on nature themed crafts, visit with the animals, and tend to our classroom garden. Sibling discounts available, as well as pre-payment for multiple weeks.
With 24 acres to explore, we have no need for offsite field trips!
Each of our nature buddies will receive their very own Olde Skye Farms Tree Top Academy t-shirt, made right here on the farm! Please let us know what size when you sign up!
Snacks will be provided each day, please make note of any sensitivities/allergies when signing up. Fresh water will always be available!
If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We are always happy to hear from our customers and welcome any feedback you may have.
